““Sundays at New Farm Park” - Exhibition Late 2019”
Today begins a long term project- painting for an exhibition that will be called “Sunday’s at New Farm Park”. This is the first of many. I live next to this park which has got to be the nicest in Brisbane and over 100 years old. Rose gardens, playgrounds, river, Croquet, tennis, jacarandas, poincianas. My aim to capture my paintings in a classical manner. Oil on canvas.

AUSTRALIAN COUNTRY - An impressionist study after one of my heroes Herman Pekel
"Raised Hands". I have been working on this for the last week or so. Its oil on canvas and I set out to paint about a man and his purpose. The man is Erwin McManus and the purpose is Mosaic. Erwin leads this faith community in Hollywood. Every Sunday there is an amazing happening on the cnr of Labrea and Hollywood blvd. Thousands of Los Angeles millennials pack out Mosaic to music and conversation. Lives are changed and dreams birthed. Painting a person is a huge responsibility because it must capture their essence. I worked on his face until I was happy after many retakes.
