Flowers in Abstract
INRI
INRI is an abbreviation that the old painters of antiquity used which is Latin for ‘Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews’. This is a large painting done in acrylics. It has high pigment colours not normally associated with religious paintings. But the cross and resurrection is what brought colour and beauty into this world.

The Cross
this was a very large painting done live on camera that took five tubes of paint. I don’t do many religious paintings even though I’m a believer, but I love doing these cross paintings.

"Living Room"
18x24 inch Acrylic on canvas.
This is actually a painting of my own living room. I was looking for shapes and colours to bend with a slight surrealism. Funky, colourful and in a beautiful gold box frame.

"Otterson Vase" as seen on TV show "Frasier"
Acrylic on canvas 20x16 inches
If you have watched TV show “Frasier”, you would have seen this painting in the background of the set. The original is by Jack Otterson was painted in 1939. He was the Art director for Universal Studios and a famous painter. I can’t say I was a huge fan of the show but watched it occasionally. But every time I saw this painting in the background of his apartment, I thought what an attractive painting it was. So here’s my version of it. It’s just a fun painting and has a way of lifting any room it’s in.

"Cross in Gold and Blue"
Acrylic on board. - Private Collection
I have borrowed this style from Phil Pringle a great friend and artist. I love the simplicity of what I believe is the answer to all of life- the Cross. It has rewritten the story of my life.
Picasso's Violin and Grapes
Acrylic on canvas 72x48
The canvas was so big I had to Uber it home in an SUV. This is not my original design, it is a famous Picasso from his Cubism period. I saturated the colors compared to Picasso's version but the design is a masterpiece creation. This was done for a friend who just bought a house in Culver City and wanted a centerpiece over his fireplace. This painting is not for sale.
Musical Friends
Acrylic on Canvas 24 x 36 PRIVATE COLLECTION
This is a family legacy painting done for the mother of her two children whose names are incorporated in the paintings. Both are amazing musicians and so it represents a cubist/abstract style. It's earthy tones sit beautifully in the entrance to their Happy Valley mountain home against the oak flooring and amazing views of Pine trees and Mt.Hood.
Musical Friends (version 2)
Acrylic on Canvas 28x18 PRIVATE COLLECTION
This is a smaller version of version 1 being a hand embellished Giclee. The'Daniel' whose name is on version 1 got married and so I added to the previous version his wife's and child's name. To personalize it further I painted their individual body tattoos into the painting. Such fun! See Legacy Paintings.

Love
Acrylic on Canvas 4x 20x16 PRIVATE COLLECTION
Not my original design but I painted these 4 letters on separate canvases for someone's wedding backdrop. After the wedding was over they now have them over their bed forever. A constant reminder in years to come of that amazing day that they stood under these letters and committed their lives to one another.
The Blood of Jesus
Acrylic on Canvas 36x20 PRIVATE COLLECTION
My wife hates this painting! But I love it because there is a shock value to it that the subject often lacks. The cross of course is not a new subject of aesthetic design but I wanted to capture not just the look, but the meaning behind what the cross is all about. Christians believe that the blood that Jesus shed on the cross is what washes away our sins. They believe its the only substance that can achieve that - not wealth, fame or even noble human endeavors. There's an old hymn that says "what can wash away my sins, nothing but the blood of Jesus". I wanted the painting to be simple and striking. The cross is done in a heavy impasto palette knife and the red for the blood was the most potent I could find.
